What a vibey VIBE! The Jungle just ticked off so many great characteristics for me! Stunning ambience, killer cocktails, inventive food dishes, and a wonderful atmosphere. Came here about 40 minutes to close, and they were extremely accommodating.
First things first; the view and setup here are absolutely gorgeous; especially during the night. The restaurant is perched up on a hill with an all glass exterior that’s decorated with fun kitschy embellishments and bright string lights. The bar is bright, fun, and festive. I love me a glowing bar! Also, they were playing some great tunes.
Service was excellent! I cannot remember the name of the gentleman who helped me, but he was super attentive and observant. I forgot my bag on the chair at my table (unbeknownst to me), and this man ran all the way up the hill to chase me before I realized it too late. Now, that is some true dedication! I absolutely appreciated that! Not sure how I left it, but my mind was definitely elsewhere.
To cocktails are sexy and delicious! I enjoyed a wonderful blue coconut marg that came garnished with a cherry and fresh coconut shreds on the rim. I decided to step out of my element and tried the unique Tico Pico roll which consisted of a sushi roll wrapped in plantains and garnished with jalapeños. It was super non-traditional but also equally delicious and filling for just one roll.
This was one of the best dining experiences that I had during the trip to Costa Rica! Please check them out! You won’t leave disappointed!

The food presentation was beautiful, and the vibe of the place is definitely nice — being in the jungle gives it a great atmosphere. The service was also good.
However, the taste was honestly a huge disappointment. There was absolutely no spice or flavor in any of the dishes. My husband ordered the palak paneer, garlic naan, and samosa chaat, and I had the veggie spring rolls and tofu pad thai. Everything looked amazing, but the taste was completely flat.
I’m honestly surprised this place has such high ratings. I understand the ambiance and presentation are strong points, but when you’re charging those prices, the flavor should match. For the amount we paid, we would have been much happier going to a local soda instead.

The breakfast here is phenomenal!!!
Alfred, our server was great!!! He asked us about our plans and gave us the type of recommendations and insight that only a local would know.
The atmosphere is really cool and laid back.
We saw some wildlife looking out the window (surprisingly since it is right in town).
Usually, we try not to eat at the same place twice when we travel, but tomorrow morning, we might make an exception, because it was that good!!!

We came for dinner around 6pm and had a great choice of tables while an hour later the restaurant was full. It is on a terrace which is somewhat open but has effective heaters. Service was very quick and polite, we enjoyed it. The food was excellent. Really really good food. There is a choice of Indian, Thai or Japanese cuisine. I had Tom Gai (which is in effect Tom Ka, rich coconut base, a big bowl full of chicken, mushrooms and other veggies). I had half a portion of rice with it but couldn’t finish, it was enough for dinner for me. Husband enjoyed his Indian Curry which he said was full of flavour and meat. We also shared a starter from the Japanese menu, noga bite – bits of fresh salmon with avocado and sesame seeds. Delicious

The Jungle was an incredible dining experience from start to finish. Me and my husband ordered their tuna poke bowls and they were SO GOOD! The atmosphere was very nice, the food was delicious, and the service truly stood out. Our hosts, Steven and Catalina, took such great care of us — they were attentive, welcoming, and made us feel genuinely appreciated the entire time. Their hospitality elevated the whole experience. We would highly recommend The Jungle to anyone looking for a memorable meal and exceptional service! It was one of our favorites in our visit to Monteverdi. PLUS- Happy Hour is amazing!!!
